Ingredients
  

For the Tofu

  • 14 oz extra firm tofu Press to remove excess liquid
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch Coats tofu for crunch

For the Marinade

  • ΒΌ cup soy sauce or coconut aminos Savory depth
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup Adds sweetness
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil Rich flavor
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar Brightens flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced, enhances flavor
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger Grated

For the Bowl

  • 2 cups cooked rice Hearty base
  • 1 cup steamed edamame Excellent protein source
  • 1 medium avocado Sliced, optional
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds For garnish
  • 2 stalks spring onions Chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

How to Make Sticky Tofu Bowls

  • Press the tofu to remove excess liquid and cut it into small cubes.
  • Coat the tofu cubes with cornstarch.
  • Heat sesame oil in a pan and fry the coated tofu until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger to make the marinade.
  • Pour the marinade over the crispy tofu and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Assemble the bowls with cooked rice, tofu, edamame, avocado, and garnishes.

Notes

Press tofu for at least 30 minutes for the best texture. Customize the marinade to your liking.
