  • Add the creamy peanut butter, sour cream, vanilla extract, eggs, and milk to the butter mixture. Beat until smooth.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until fluffy.
  • Frost the cooled cakes generously between layers and on top. Drizzle melted peanut butter and sprinkle with chopped Reese's or mini chocolate chips.
