Ingredients
  

For the Mascarpone Cream

  • 16 oz Mascarpone Cheese Ensure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing.

  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream Substitute with dairy-free cream for a vegan option.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Can be replaced with powdered sugar.

For the Espresso Mixture

  • 1 cup Espresso Use strong brewed coffee if espresso is unavailable.
  • 2 tbsp Dark Rum or Liqueur Optional for enhancing flavor.

For Layering

  • 24 pieces Savoiardi Ladyfingers Consider gluten-free for a gluten-free version.

For the Finish

  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder Substitute with a mix of cocoa and powdered sugar for added sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, blend mascarpone cheese with vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • In another bowl, whip heavy cream and granulated sugar for about 5-8 minutes until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the freshly brewed espresso and optional dark rum.
  • Dip each ladyfinger quickly on both sides into the mixture.
  • In a 9x9-inch dish, arrange half the dipped ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat layering.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Dust the top with cocoa powder and serve.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with chocolate shavings for a decadent touch. For best results, try preparing a day in advance to deepen flavors.
