Ingredients
  

For the Apples

  • 6 Large Apples Granny Smith or Fuji are recommended.
  • 6 Candy Apple Sticks Specialty sticks or chopsticks can be used.

For the Candy Coating

  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup Water

For Color and Flavor

  • 1 tbsp Food Coloring Gel colors work best.
  • 1 tsp Flavoring Extract or Oil Cherry extract is a great option.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare: Grease a cookie sheet with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Wash and Dry: Wash apples under cold water, removing stems and stickers. Make sure they are completely dry.
  • Insert Sticks: Firmly insert the candy apple sticks into the tops of the apples.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
  • Cook the Syrup: Boil the mixture until it reaches 310°F using a candy thermometer.
  • Add Color and Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and flavoring extract.
  • Dip the Apples: Dip each apple in the hot candy mixture, turning to coat completely.
  • Cool and Enjoy: Let the apples cool on a prepared cookie sheet before enjoying.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle with chocolate for an extra touch! Store candy apples in the fridge wrapped to maintain freshness.
