For the Cake

  • 1 box Boxed Vanilla Cake Mix Feel free to substitute with homemade for a personal touch.

For the Frosting

  • 12 oz Cream Cheese Cold, cubed.
  • 150 g Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste if less sweetness is desired.
  • Kosher Salt Enhances flavors.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Cold, for whipped frosting.
  • 1.5 tsp Vanilla Extract Adds depth of flavor.

For the Decoration

  • 1/3 cup Fresh Blueberries Substitute with blackberries if desired.
  • 1.5 cups Fresh Raspberries Feel free to use strawberries as a substitute.
  • 1 Tbsp Confectioners' Sugar Optional, for dusting.

How to Make Flag Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine the boxed vanilla cake mix with the required ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, sugar, and salt in a stand mixer. Gradually add heavy cream and vanilla extract until fluffy.
  • Once cooled, spread half the frosting on the cake and decorate with remaining frosting and fruit to mimic the flag.
  • Pipe extra frosting to fill in gaps and dust with confectioners’ sugar if using.
  • Slice and serve with friends and family!

Notes

Ensure cream cheese and heavy cream are cold for the best frosting consistency. Customize fruits as desired.
