Instructions

How to Make Strawberry Crunch Cake

  • Start by following the package instructions for both the vanilla and strawberry cake mixes. Pour the mixtures into separate pans and bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Once baked, allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans.
  • In a mixing bowl, whip the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream, mixing until you reach a smooth and spreadable consistency.
  • Once the cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving platter. Generously spread a layer of buttercream on top, then carefully place the second cake layer on top.
  • In a small bowl, crush the freeze-dried strawberries and Nilla wafers. Mix them with the melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture onto the frosted top layer of the cake.
  • Finish by adding fresh strawberries on top of the crunchy layer for a pop of color and added freshness. Slice and enjoy!
