Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and kosher salt in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Soak each slice of white bread in the egg mixture, lay in a baking dish, pour remaining mixture on top, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Sprinkle sliced raw almonds over the bread mixture.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving, dust with confectioners' sugar and add fresh berries if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze individual portions for up to 2 months.
