  • 12 oz Fresh cranberries Look for firm, bright red berries without soft spots
  • 1 cup Sugar Granulated sugar is ideal
  • 1 large Orange Zest and juice used, wash thoroughly before using

Preparation Steps

  • Zest the orange and slice it into wedges, removing any seeds.
  • Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water, discarding any soft or discolored ones, then dry.
  • In a food processor, combine the cranberries, orange wedges, sugar, and reserved orange zest.
  • Pulse the mixture until you reach your desired consistency—smooth but slightly textured.
  • Taste the relish and adjust sweetness if necessary, then transfer to a dish.
  • Chill the cranberry relish in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Can be served with a sprinkle of chopped mint for an extra refreshing touch. Flavors improve when allowed to rest after being made.
