How to Make Gordon Ramsay German Potato Salad

  • Cut the waxy potatoes into even chunks, then bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Boil for 10–12 minutes until they are just fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and spread them on a tray to cool completely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, pickle juice, diced red onion, chopped cornichons or dill pickles, and scallions. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed for that perfect balance.
  • Once the potatoes are cool, add them to the dressing mixture. Gently fold using a spatula to coat each potato evenly, ensuring that the flavors meld together beautifully. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes to truly enhance the taste.
  • Season the salad with kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Just before serving, garnish with chopped chives and a dusting of paprika. You can serve it cool or at room temperature, making it a versatile dish for any occasion.
