Instructions
 

Making the Cookies

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and cornstarch.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until it’s smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar while mixing well.
  • Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, and mix until fully blended.
  • Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients until a crumbly dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 12 equal balls and gently flatten into discs, about ½ inch thick.
  • Use your finger to create heart-shaped imprints in the center of each disc.
  • Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or freeze for 10 minutes to avoid spreading.
  • Heat the heavy cream until hot, then pour it over the chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and place cookies on a baking sheet.
  • Add a small spoonful of ganache into the heart imprints of each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around edges.
  • Let cool completely before serving.
