Tapioca Pearls

Milk

  • 1 cup plant-based milk Adds creaminess; e.g., Oatly Full Fat Oat Milk.

Serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and hot water, stirring until dissolved. Microwave if necessary.
  • Boil water in a small pot and cook the tapioca pearls according to package instructions, typically for about 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water, then marinate in the syrup for about 10 minutes.
  • Steep the black tea bags or loose leaves in boiling water for about 10 minutes. Strain and discard tea bags or leaves.
  • In serving glasses, add marinated tapioca pearls with syrup, pour in brewed tea, and finish with plant-based milk.
  • Mix well and serve hot or chilled with ice cubes.

Notes
