Ingredients

For the Dip

  • 2.5 cups shredded chicken use rotisserie chicken for speed or poach fresh chicken breasts for better flavor
  • 2 cups pepper jack cheese adds a creamy and spicy flavor, for best meltability, consider using the Cabot brand
  • 3/4 cup hot sauce this gives the dip its signature tangy kick—adjust to your spice preference
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened, ensure it’s at room temperature for smooth blending
  • 1/3 cup sour cream provides tang and additional creaminess, can be swapped with Greek yogurt if desired
  • 1 tsp paprika enhances both the color and flavor; for smokiness, consider using smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder adds savory depth to the dip
  • 1 tsp garlic powder contributes an aromatic flavor that can also be substituted with fresh minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp pepper a simple seasoning to balance the flavors throughout
  • 1/4 tsp dill offers a refreshing, herbal note
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper adds warmth and spice—omit for a milder dip
  • chives finely snipped for garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Stir in paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, dill, and cayenne until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Gently fold in the shredded chicken, hot sauce, and 1 cup of pepper jack cheese.
  • Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds to meld the flavors together.
  • Carefully transfer the dip mixture into an air fryer-safe baking dish. Cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 400°F for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbling.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and cook uncovered for an additional 2-3 minutes.
