Ingredients
  

For the Crust

  • 12 Tbsp unsalted butter Use unsalted butter for balanced flavor.
  • 2 cups crushed salted pretzels Adds crunch and contrast.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Enhances sweetness of the crust.

For the Creamy Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the filling.
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed in the fridge Lightens the filling.

For the Strawberry Layer

  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O Provides vibrant color and flavor.
  • 2 cups boiling water Essential for dissolving the Jell-O.
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Adds natural sweetness.

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F for optimal crust texture.
  • Combine 6 oz strawberry Jell-O with 2 cups of boiling water, stir well until dissolved, then let cool.
  • Crush 2 cups of salted pretzels in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin until fine crumbs.
  • Melt 12 Tbsp of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan, stir in 1/4 cup granulated sugar, then mix in crushed pretzels.
  • Transfer the pretzel mixture to a 13x9 glass casserole dish and press evenly for the crust. Bake for 10 minutes and cool.
  • Beat 8 oz softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup granulated sugar until fluffy, then fold in 8 oz Cool Whip until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Hull and slice 1 lb fresh strawberries, mix into the cooled Jell-O mixture.
  • Pour the strawberry mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer, refrigerate until Jell-O sets (2-4 hours).

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or extra strawberries on top if desired.
