Instructions

Making the Jello Shots

  • Prepare the cups: Place 3-oz plastic cups onto a cookie sheet to keep them stable while you fill them with layers of colorful goodness.
  • Dissolve the blue Jello: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then whisk in the berry blue Jello mix until it’s completely dissolved.
  • Mix in vodka: Add 1 cup of Red White & Berry Vodka to the dissolved Jello, stirring well.
  • Cool the mixture: Stir in 1 cup of cold water and let the mixture cool for about 20 minutes.
  • Fill with blue layer: Pour the blue gelatin mixture into the shot cups, filling them about ⅓ of the way full. Place in the refrigerator and allow to set for about 2 hours.
  • Make the white layer: In a separate bowl, boil 2 cups of water, then whisk in 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk and 2 packets of unflavored gelatin. Cool for 25-30 minutes.
  • Add the white layer: Pour the cooled white gelatin mixture into the shot cups, filling another ⅓ of the way. Return to the refrigerator until set, about another 2 hours.
  • Prepare the red layer: Whisk together the strawberry Jello mix with 2 cups of boiling water until dissolved, then stir in 1 cup of vodka and 1 cup of cold water.
  • Fill with red layer: Allow the red mixture to cool for 25-30 minutes, then add it to the cups, filling close to the top. Refrigerate for another 2 hours to set completely.
  • Top it off: Just before serving, add a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with patriotic sprinkles.

Notes

For a family-friendly version, skip the vodka and replace it with additional cold water or fruit juice.
