Instructions

How to Make a Reuben Sandwich

  • Butter the Bread: Begin by evenly buttering one side of each slice of rye bread. This will give your sandwich that perfectly crispy golden crust when toasted.
  • Spread the Dressing: On the unbuttered side of each slice, generously spread the Russian dressing. This creamy and tangy base will enhance every bite with delightful flavor.
  • Layer Ingredients: On half of the bread slices, layer the Swiss cheese, followed by the corned beef, and then the sauerkraut. Top with the remaining slices, dressing side down to seal in all that goodness.
  • Toast the Sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the assembled sandwiches in the pan. Toast until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes per side. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!
  • Optional: Serve with a pickle on the side for an extra crunch.
