Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Mixture

  • 2 cups shredded chicken use rotisserie chicken for convenience
  • 0.5 cups BBQ sauce Sweet Baby Ray's recommended
  • 1 jalapeño use to taste or omit
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika substitute with regular paprika if needed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder can use fresh garlic

For the Buns and Toppings

  • 6 slider rolls whole wheat or gluten-free if needed
  • 0.5 cups red onion finely sliced
  • 0.25 cups cilantro Substitute with parsley if necessary
  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese substitute with Monterey Jack or cheddar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper adjust to taste

For the Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons butter use unsalted

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Mix shredded chicken in a bowl with BBQ sauce, jalapeño, smoked paprika, and garlic powder until everything is well coated.
  • Split the slider rolls in half and lay the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Distribute the chicken mixture evenly across the rolls, drizzle with remaining BBQ sauce, and top with red onion, cilantro, and pepper jack cheese.
  • Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 12 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Melt butter with garlic powder in a small bowl. Brush buttery mixture over the tops of the buns, sprinkle black pepper, and bake uncovered for an additional 5-8 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove the sliders from the oven, let them cool briefly, and serve warm.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with extra cilantro or sliced jalapeños for a fresh touch.
