Equipment

  • 1.5-quart oven-safe casserole dish

Ingredients

For the Casserole

  • 1 can Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup provides creaminess and a rich base for flavor; substitution: try unsalted or reduced-fat versions for lighter options.
  • ½ cup Milk adds moisture for a creamy texture; substitution: non-dairy milk works as an excellent alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce enhances umami flavors; optional for those looking to reduce sodium.
  • 1.5 pounds Green Beans use fresh, blanched beans, or 16-20 ounces of thawed frozen beans, or 2 cans of drained canned green beans.
  • 1 cup French Fried Onions delivers that signature crunchy flavor on top; alternative: opt for toasted almonds for a delightful twist.

Instructions

How to Make Green Bean Casserole

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a 1.5-quart oven-safe casserole dish, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, green beans, and two-thirds of the French fried onions. Stir well and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until it’s hot and bubbling. Stir the mixture halfway through.
  • Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining French fried onions on top. Return it to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
  • Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes before serving to help the flavors meld beautifully.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle with a bit of olive oil before serving for added flavor.
