  • 1 lb Ground Turkey Opt for 85-93% lean.
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Freshly ground preferred.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Adjust based on personal preference.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste.

For the Chili Base

  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes San Marzano recommended.
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Balances out the acidity.
  • 1 can Black Beans Drained and rinsed.
  • 1 cup Frozen Corn Can be added directly.

Vegetable Additions

  • 1 medium Yellow Onion Diced for even cooking.
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Sliced for uniform cooking.

For the Spices

  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder Adjust quantity for heat.
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin Essential for authentic flavor.

How to Make Slow Cooker Chili Meatballs

  • In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Form 20-24 walnut-sized meatballs.
  • While shaping the meatballs, dice the yellow onion and slice the mushrooms.
  • In a small bowl, mix any remaining onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Place the shaped meatballs in the slow cooker. Pour the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce over them, followed by the onions, mushrooms, black beans, and frozen corn. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly and stir gently.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 3-4 hours until cooked through.

Notes

Adjust seasoning before serving if needed. Optional to serve with fresh cilantro or lime.
