Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces Chicken Thighs Bone-in, skin-on
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

For the Spice Rub

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground for better aroma
  • 1 tablespoon Light Brown Sugar

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce Sweet Baby Ray's recommended

Cooking Instructions

  • Pat dry the chicken thighs with paper towels.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, black pepper, and light brown sugar, then rub over the chicken thighs.
  • Allow the seasoned chicken to rest at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Preheat one side of your grill to high (400-450°F) and leave the other side off.
  • Place the chicken skin-side down on the cooler side of the grill and cover. Cook for 30-35 minutes, flipping every 10 minutes, until the internal temperature is 160-165°F.
  • Brush BBQ sauce onto the chicken, cover, and grill for 3-4 minutes. Flip and repeat until the internal temperature reaches 175°F.
  • Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve topped with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
