  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Light Brown Sugar

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce Sweet Baby Ray's recommended

Cooking Steps

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure a beautifully browned, crispy skin when grilled.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, black pepper, and light brown sugar.
  • Generously rub the spice mixture all over the chicken thighs, allowing them to rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat one side of the grill to high (400-450°F) while keeping the other side turned off or set to low.
  • Place the seasoned chicken, skin-side down, on the cooler side of the grill. Cover and cook for about 30-35 minutes, flipping every 10 minutes.
  • Once the chicken reaches the desired temperature, brush it generously with BBQ sauce. Cover and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
