How to Make Chicken and Dumplings

  • Begin by dicing the onion, carrot, and celery into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper to ensure each bite is flavorful.
  • Add the diced vegetables and fresh thyme to the bottom of your slow cooker. Place the seasoned chicken on top, creating a solid base for your comforting dish.
  • Pour in the cream of chicken soup and water over the chicken and veggies, covering them completely to lock in moisture.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to High for 2 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. After cooking, shred the chicken within the cooker for a delightful texture.
  • Stir in the frozen peas and diced celery, adjusting the seasoning to your liking.
