  • - ¾ cup butter softened
  • - 1 ¾ cups sugar
  • - 4 eggs
  • - 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • - 1 cup whole milk
  • #### Vanilla Buttercream
  • - 1 ½ cups butter
  • - 5–6 cups powdered sugar
  • - 1 tbsp vanilla
  • - 2–3 tbsp milk
  • - Blue gel coloring
  • #### Glaze
  • - 1 cup powdered sugar
  • - 2–3 tbsp milk
  • - ½ tsp vanilla
  • #### Marshmallow Snowmen
  • - Marshmallows
  • - Pretzel sticks
  • - Mini chocolate chips
  • - Mini Oreos or chocolate coins
  • - Red licorice
  • #### Sugar Cone Trees
  • - Sugar cones
  • - Green frosting
  • - Sanding sugar
  • - Snowflake sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Bake cake layers at 350°F for 25–30 minutes. Cool.
  • Prepare frosting and tint half blue.
  • Layer and frost cake, using both colors. Chill.
  • Drizzle glaze on top and let drip.
  • Make snowmen and trees using candy and frosting.
  • Decorate top and sides of cake.
  • Dust with coconut or powdered sugar for snow effect.

Notes

- Bake layers ahead and refrigerate
- Let frosting come to room temp for easy spreading
- Use shredded coconut for a snowy base
